Word of Life

12-02-2018Weekly ReflectionFr. Bing Colasito

“Prepare the way of the Lord...(Lk. 3:4) The general tone of the Gospel shows that everyone, even tax collectors (v. 12-13), soldiers (v. 14), and even those considered as publicans can attain salvation. The coming of the Messiah opens a path into the depths of everyone’s soul. Meaning, the path of the Word of God is through the human heart and soul.

Prepare the way of the Lord is a call to live an upright life and make straight life’s path so that the Word of God can work in one’s life. (Origen, Commentarii in Ioannem, 21: 5-7) Are we aware of the good works the Lord has done for us? How do I prepare for the way of the Lord into my life this Advent season?

Be in God,
Fr. Bing
