Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
The role of the Extraordinary Minister (EM) is to assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion when other priests or deacons (the ordinary ministers) are not available or when numbers of the persons receiving Holy Communion necessitate more ministers for an orderly and reverent distribution of Holy Communion.
A hands-on training including the importance of fulfilling commitments as scheduled is required. Time commitment is approximately 90 minutes for the Mass you are scheduled to serve.
EM qualifications
Men or women who are 16 years of age or older, are fully initiated and an active member of the Catholic Church and attendance at a St. Rose or Good Shepherd EM training session.
